Fayetteville is a city in Cumberland County, North Carolina, United States. With a population of approximately 210,000, it is the sixth-largest city in North Carolina and serves as the county seat of Cumberland County.

The city is located along the Cape Fear River in the Sandhills region of North Carolina and is best known as the home of Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), one of the largest military installations in the world.

Geography

Fayetteville sits approximately 60 miles south of Raleigh and 100 miles northwest of Wilmington. The city covers an area of about 149 square miles.
